Six months in. The first drop is open.

I'm Michael, founder of cobbler.fit. Every shoe we make begins with a 3D scan of your foot. Handcrafted in Portugal from that scan outward. This is the first dispatch.

If we met:

  • In person: hi again. We talked about the shoes.

  • On Reddit: welcome. You found us via an ad or a thread.

Why this exists

I've struggled with shoes for most of my life. Not the size. The geometry. Wide forefoot, high arches, a left small toe compressed into standard lasts for as long as I can remember. Barefoot shoes brought me closer. But every brand still has its own last, its own shape preference. I was still compromising.

cobbler.fit is a footscan brand. The scan comes first. Everything (last, pattern, construction) is derived from it. The shoe adapts to you. The starting point is always your foot, not a manufacturer's template.

I made a short video on Instagram showing what standard lasts actually do to a foot like mine.

The first prototype

The first prototype was the first shoe I'd ever worn that wasn't a compromise.

For years the same things had been wrong on every shoe I owned:

  • The shoe's curve never matched my foot's curve. It was always too straight. I could feel the shoe fighting the foot.

  • The toe box was too narrow, sometimes on one side, sometimes on both.

  • The heel cup was loose. The shoe slid every time I walked.

The solve was the scan, and what came out of it.

I rejected the traditional route. No last maker measured my feet. I built the last from the 3D scan itself, my actual foot, not a tape-measured approximation. From there, everything was derived.

The toe box was built where my toes actually sit, so they had room without slop. The shoe's curve matched my foot's curve, so the shoe stopped fighting the foot. The heel cup was sized to my actual heel, so the shoe grabbed instead of slid. The instep height was right, so the laces sat parallel. The shoe never looked like I'd tightened or loosened it on purpose. Aesthetically, it didn't look like I was exploding from it.

That was v1. Not for sale. Built to learn.

Wearing it

The first pair has been on my feet for two months. Not to sell. To learn. Worn daily, in real conditions, until the problems revealed themselves.

What held up:

  • Scan accuracy confirmed. My left small toe has space for the first time in my adult life.

  • Suede performs as expected. Ages well, wears beautifully.

  • The construction holds the precision the scan requires.

What didn't:

  • The cork-rubber sole blend lacked grip.

  • The heel grip was good but could be more flexible.

Two months of walking found all of it. The factory addressed each point.

Version two

What didn't work in v1, we addressed head-on in v2:

  • Fitted, flexible heel grip to hold your foot

  • Vibram outsole to prevent slippage

  • Optional foam footbed for increased cushion on hard surfaces

Don't miss out

We're ready for our first run. Orders close June 7th. Shoes ship at the end of July.

Every pair begins with your scan. Built to your dimensions, finished by hand in Portugal. A 1-of-1, made for one foot in the world.

$406.8 USD.

Scan before you pay. Then add the style of your choice to cart, or build your shoe from scratch. Only then do we start building.

If the shoe doesn't fit, we get on a call. I want to understand what went wrong. Then we make another pair. No charge.

This is the first edition. A small batch. If you've spent years looking for shoes that actually fit, this is the one to place.

Start with a scan

The scan takes a few minutes. Everything else starts from there.
