Not details. Choices.
Sizing
Your size is your foot
Every pair is built from your actual measurements rather than a size, an approximation or an average. Two photos on your phone take three minutes, or see how the measuring works.
Sole and construction
How it is built
A lasted sneaker in the proper sense. Your upper is pulled over your own last onto a lasting board, the cavity filled with natural cork that takes the print of your foot and holds it, then your Vibram outsole is cut by hand to the outline of your own last and cemented. Cut rather than moulded, because a mould is only ever made for a size. It is the method bespoke workshops use, and it means any competent cobbler can resole these. We keep your last, so the replacement is cut to the same outline as the first. See the construction in full.
Ground-Feel
Two 3mm footbeds on a 4mm Vibram Gaia sole. You will feel the earth, every texture and every grade. Built for those who walk like they mean it.
Cloud-Feel
An 8mm Vibram NewFlex sole with the cushion built in, or Vibram over cork: a 3mm cork midsole beneath the 4mm NewFlex. Cork compresses into your footprint over the first month and holds that shape, which is why it is the one to choose if you are standing all day. Still zero-drop, still honest, just a little more between you and the day.
Materials
Leather and Suedes, tanned without chromium, just plant extracts and time. The nap deepens where life happens, scuffs buff out, color settles into something earned. It doesn't age. It becomes yours.
Lining
Leather Lining
A second skin inside the first. Adds structure, slows the stretch, and wears smooth over time. The choice for those who want a shoe that holds its shape for years.
Wool Lining
Warm without weight. Natural wool regulates temperature in both directions, cool enough for shoulder seasons, enough insulation for cold months. The year-round interior.
Hemp Lining
The most breathable interior we make. Hemp wicks, resists odour naturally, and softens against the foot with every wear. For warm climates and anyone whose feet run hot.
If shoes never fit you
Wide feet, narrow feet, two feet that disagree, bunions, a high instep, or an orthotic you have been forcing into shoes never designed to hold one. A size chart cannot solve any of these, because the problem was never length.
Your last is cut per foot from your own measurements, so width, girth, instep height and heel volume are built rather than inherited. The shape is anatomical, following the outline of your foot rather than tapering to a point, and seams are placed away from anything you tell us is sensitive.
We are shoemakers rather than clinicians. If you have a diagnosed condition, bring us what your podiatrist tells you and we will build to it. Read the full breakdown by case.
How we measure you
Two photos on your phone, under three minutes, accurate to about a millimetre. The scan captures length, ball width, ball girth, instep height, heel width, arch height and length, toe shape, and the measured difference between your left and right foot. Nothing is averaged across the pair.
A person reads the file alongside anything you have told us before a last is generated, one per foot, with allowances applied for the upper material you chose. That last stays on file, so a second pair or a resole years from now starts from the same geometry.
No phone, or the scanner will not run? A printable outline template and a manual photo route both work. See the full measurement workflow.
The making, and the waiting
Four to six weeks from measurements to doorstep. The clock starts the moment your file arrives, not at checkout. Roughly: your measurements read by a person in 1 to 3 days, a last built for each foot in 2 to 4, pattern and hand cutting in 3 to 6, closing in 4 to 7, then 5 to 9 for lasting, the cork bed and an outsole cut to your outline and bonded, including a resting period that decides whether the shoe holds its shape. Finishing takes 2 to 4, then it travels from Portugal.
Busy season, a leather between dye batches, or a fit correction will add to that. You will always hear the real date from us rather than the comfortable one.
What it asks of you: patience, and a little trust, since a pair cut to your feet fits no one else and cannot go back on a shelf. In return the fit itself is guaranteed. Two corrections per pair, sixty days, rebuilt at our cost. The full comparison against off the shelf.
Where every pair begins
Nothing is built until we know your feet.
